Lessons from Nature
Class date / time: Saturday, November 9, 2019 - 9:00am to 4:00pm
Instructor: Chris Morales
Fee: $65
Non-Member Fee: $75
Nature has much to teach us. It is one thing to learn about the feeding habits of wading birds; it is another to see how those feeding habits might inform our own lives. Buried within the destruction and rebirth that accompanies fire, or within the play of the moon and sun on the tides, there are design principles waiting to be revealed, quietly inviting those who are still enough to listen to learn how to live more resilient, harmonious lives. Join educator and guide Chris Morales in this first of a series of day-long of workshops that will expose you to different parts of the Seashore while deepening your relationship to Place and Self. This November, we unearth the lessons embedded within the Fall season as we explore the coastal chaparral, riparian, and estuarine ecosystems along the Estero Trail, eventually landing near Home Bay and Drakes Estero. Our time together will include group time - hiking and exploring natural history - and solo time, investigating the design principles we unearth and reflecting on how to integrate these into our lives. This workshop will benefit nature lovers and explorers of all levels – those seeking an introduction to Pt. Reyes National Seashore as well as those wishing to deepen their relationship to Nature.
