Baldy Trail is anything but bare. In late spring, summer and fall, the trail is buried in high dense grasses, poison oak, and stinging nettles. However, in the winter and early spring it’s a pleasant, but not particularly interesting, hike. It’s the shortest trail between the Bear Valley Trail and the Sky Trail. Before hiking it, it’s worth inquiring with rangers at the Bear Valley Visitor Center if the grasses along the trail have recently been mowed. Baldy is 3.1 miles from the Bear Valley Visitor Center.
