Berries Brulee

2 pints strawberries, quartered
2 T. sugar (optional)
1 pint raspberries
8 oz. sour cream
1/2 c. brown sugar

Rinse and dry the strawberries and remove the stems. Cut the strawberries into quarters and place them in a small baking dish. Add a few tablespoons of sugar if the berries are not very sweet. Add the raspberries to the dish on top of the strawberries. You can prepare it up to this point then cover and chill until ready to broil. When you are ready to broil, spread the sour cream gently on top the berries and sprinkle evenly with the brown sugar. Place under a broiler until the sugar browns slightly. Watch it carefully so it doesn't get too burned. (The topping should be more browned than shown above. I got impatient and removed them from the oven too soon.)
