Meet Your Speakers:
Professor Daniel Fernandez has been at California State University, Monterey Bay since 1996 and has been researching fog and water collection from fog since 2005.
He has deployed many dozens of standard fog collector devices across the state to measure water collected from fog and how it varies with time and location. Such information is valuable for knowing how the fog impacts ecosystems, how fog patterns are changing, and whether and where it is viable to collect water from fog. He is currently working on a grant with four other universities to further our understanding of both the impacts of and the prediction of fog.
