Point Reyes Peninsula Tour
Restoration, Remnant Communities, Targeted Grazing on the Point Reyes Peninsula

This mostly driving tour will visit a variety of sites throughout the Point Reyes Peninsula.
The Chicken Ranch Beach Wetland Restoration removed invasive acacias and recontoured a polluted waterway through a newly planted wetland meadow, while addressing potential sea-level rise concerns.
Parcel tax supported Marin Wildfire has defensible space projects at key locations around Marin County. Visit a location at nearby Shell Beach showing the results after 1 and 3 years.
Tomales Bay State Park plans a forest improvement project. On a short walk experience some of their concerns regarding decadent Bishop Pine forest and encroaching shrub.
Visit a patch of remnant coastal prairie along Marshall Beach Road. A panoramic view of the much of the recently vacated cattle range.
The Nature Conservancy contractor is finishing up the pilot year of targeted grazing at Bull Point. A quarter-mile walk highlights techniques for excluding cattle from sensitive sites, fence-line contrasts, and water-supply issues.
Visit one or two more patches of remnant coastal prairie.
Optional unguided visits to Point Reyes Lighthouse and/or Chimney Rock.
