Calling all Junior Rangers! Join us for an exciting exploration of the incredible adaptations that help insects survive and thrive in their environments! This program is perfect for young nature enthusiasts eager to learn about the fascinating features and behaviors of insects.
What will you discover?
What are insects? Recognize what defines an insect by identifying the common structures and characteristics of insects.
Insect Adaptations: Explore examples of insect adaptations and infer how they fit the insect's habitat or lifestyle,
Celebrate Biodiversity: Every insect plays a role in its ecosystem and habitat. Learn what some of those roles look like for common insects in our area and appreciate the diversity of insects.
Hands-On Activities: Junior Rangers will get to engage in fun, interactive activities like inventing their own insect, and observing insect adaptations up close.
Who can join?
The Junior Ranger Program is suited for children ages 7-12 years old. Registration is not required. Program is limited to 15 individuals.
What to bring?
All program materials are provided. Participants should dress appropriately for the weather, wear sturdy shoes, bring water, sunscreen, and a snack.
