Spring Migration at Point Reyes

Mid-April is a wonderful time to enjoy a wide variety of birds at Point Reyes. Almost all of the migratory nesting birds have returned to the area while some of the wintering birds still linger.
This class will explore Bear Valley, the Giacomini wetlands, and some coastal habitats to observe varied species. Identification of raptors, shorebirds, waterfowl, woodpeckers, flycatchers and warblers by sight and sounds will be a major focus.
David Wimpfheimer is a professional naturalist and biologist. For forty years David has pursed his passion, natural history of the America West. He enthusiastically shares his extensive knowledge about all aspects of the natural world with many groups including Smithsonian Institution, California Academy of Sciences, Road Scholar and Oceanic Society.
