Salmon of San Geronimo Valley

Salmon of San Geronimo Valley
Wednesday, January 8, 2020, 10am – 12pm

This walk is for 18 and up. Each year, several species of Pacific salmon migrate up certain creeks to breed. We’ll look for evidence of fish as we discuss the biology of these remarkable animals. The timing of these activities is subject to numerous environmental variables, but if we're lucky we might have a chance to observe spawning activity. It can be very cold by the creek so bring warm clothing; also, polarized glasses are helpful to see the fish better. Remember to bring binoculars if you have them.

Rain may cancel. If questionable weather, call (415) 893-9527 after 8am on the morning of the event to hear a recorded message if cancelled. We request that no pets (except service animals) attend.

No registration is required.

Questions: Contact Shannon Burke at (415) 893-9520.

Location

Meet at the Leo T. Cronin Fish Viewing Area west of Lagunitas.

Directions

From Hwy 101 in Larkspur, take the exit for Sir Francis Drake Blvd west 13.6 miles, the parking area is on the left (just past Shafter Bridge).
