Volunteer for Party on the Pacific Plate

Sharing a wonderful volunteer opportunity….

All of us at Point Reyes National Seashore Association (PRNSA) are working diligently to stand proud as a partner to our beloved park amid these challenging times for our public lands. We are committed to support on-going conservation, education, and community-building throughout the Seashore, and that’s why we’re excited to invite you to join us at our 16th annual Party on the Pacific Plate on the Fall Equinox, Saturday, September 20th. Every year we host our biggest fundraising event, gathering as a community in celebration of this special place and the people who protect it. This event would not be possible without our dedicated volunteer support, so if you’re in need of community service hours or looking for a way to support our public parks, we invite you to save the date and help ensure the success of this event.

As you know, this is our keystone fundraiser of the year! As a POPP volunteer you will again help us reach our fundraising goal and support habitat and trail restoration, wildlife and endangered species monitoring, other volunteer programs, and environmental education programs for people and youth of all backgrounds and ages. You also will help us bring over 2,500 youth to the Seashore to connect with and understand the natural world. Funds raised during the event this year will support our Youth in Parks program which brings low-income and BIPOC youth, traditionally underrepresented in public lands, from around the Bay Area to Point Reyes to experience the wonders of the Park.

These are complex times for our public lands, including our Seashore. This year’s theme is Resilience in Community, which refers to a community’s capacity to prepare for, withstand, adapt to, and recover from various challenges. Our work strengthens community resilience every day—through education programs that welcome youth to the park, planning a reimagined trail system, and conservation programs that support healthy ecosystems and wildlife

This year we’re delighted to partner with renowned local artist Lela Shields for event artwork and materials!

Here’s the application. Please fill it out and return it as soon as you can.

If you'd like to buy tickets or sponsor the event, please contact Ashley Hebert at ashleyh@ptreyes.org or visit Party on the Pacific Plate website for more details.

If you have any questions, please let me know!

My very best, with gratitude for your support,
